"A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms, shall not be infringed." which is specifically talking about a civilized move, a National Reserve, not an uncivilized move of everyone being armed. The whole sentence is structured around "well regulated militia" and the 3 parts of the sentence after it are not separate statements. The founding fathers were apparently skilled in English, where today's USraeli citizens aren't.

Absolutely incorrect, one needs to read the Declaration of Independence to see the only intent of the Second Amendment. How can a free people throw off a tyrannical government if they are disarmed?
How many millions were slaughtered in the twentieth century alone after being disarmed by communist and other tyrannical regimes?
I'll remain armed, thanks.
New to Steemit and just discovered the "Replies" page, so sorry, & belated reply. Quote "How can a free people throw off a...." The Free People AKA The Public you mention join into a Militia with arms. This is what it's referring to. They weren't stupid. They knew single people with guns are useless. They were talking about The Public joining National Reserves where there was organized gun use.
