Almost a week of riots have occurred in various streets in Nicaragua. They are angry at Ortega and his wife, Vice President Rosario Murillo, for a penalty plan that is considered to be detrimental.
Not only that, the resentment of citizens also spread to the problem of political stagnation, the sluggish economy of citizens and the leadership style of president and vice president who judged authoritarian.
Looting was reported in several areas in the capital of Managua. A number of shop owners were forced to keep their merchandise with guns.
"Get out!" shouted several protesters, echoing the demand for Ortega and Murillo to step down from their posts.
Similar protests took place in the northern cities of Esteli and Matagalpa.
Ortega faces the latest anti-government protest since he returned to office 11 years ago.
Last weekend, Ortega canceled pensions reform, and offered peace talks to end tensions on the highway.
While Murillo promised to immediately free the protesters previously arrested officers.
