It was so overwhelming after the announcement and the eventual decision to concede defeat by the flamboyant outgoing Governor of Kiambu County. Who would have thought that was possible?, and was Kabogo very aware of his true words while he was calmly but furiously giving his remarks of acceptance?
Amidst all the glamour, it was easy to realize that all was not well and most especially a reading in the governor’s face told a different story from that of his lips. Could he have been coarsed into accepting the doubtful results with a promise of a better seat at the Jubilee government?
Lat week on Friday when the primaries were about to begin, Kabogo raised an alarm about an eminent rigging. His claims were that the polling materials had been transported by interested parties in the nomination process for example former Kabete MP Waititu (Baba Yao). In a democratic process this is a primary case of a hindered democracy that could possibly of causing panic to an opponent who may feel unflavored in a process that should otherwise be democratic.
Now that Waititu has finally clinched the seat and and has gone further defeated the governor in his own backyard polling station, what is the next step for the loser governor? There are other options such as choosing another party to vie on or going it alone as an independent gubernatorial aspirant. Governor Kabogo has however not so far laid his next plan bear to the public and opinions are that he will not.
Rumors have it that the governor has a better position on offer for him by the King of Central politics. In the event that Jubilee party clinches the national election, the Governor is possibly going to be among the prominent leaders of the jubilee party in conjunction with the Central politics for 2022. Now the question is, what if Jubilee fails to obtain a re-election, would Kabog’s political life die??
