Recently, like many other companies, Disney has pledged to stand with black America. However, the Chinese version of their Star Wars Force Awakens poster tells a different story.
In the western version of the poster you can see that the black character Finn played by John Boyega, who is one of the main characters of the movie, is displayed prominently along with the other characters. In the Chinese version of the poster they shrunk his character down to make him about as small as they could. Is that showing support for the black community?
Just a couple days ago Lucasfilm even said they stand behind John Boyega, and that he's their hero. Were they standing behind him when they released the Chinese version of the Force Awakens movie poster?
Disney, like so many others, only does what they think is politically advantageous at the time. They only care about their own political agenda and how they can try to capitalize on any political movement to try to gain more attention and money, even when their actions show something else.
