Though anyone is welcome to put their input on this post, I am specifically calling on residents of Kentucky. Today a petition I started for Harlan County to have fair representation in the General Assembly reached 100 supporters in less then 24 hours. Now that may not seem like a lot, but to me it means something. 100 people decided to stand up and make their voices known, that is significant. Now I am looking for other residents of Kentucky to join the fight. I know Harlan is not the only county split down the middle to form unfair districts. If you live in a county like that please join the good fight, or if you just sympathize with us show your support!
On the petition is a link to my essay covering the topic.
Although I do not "live" in Harlan anymore, I think this is a great idea. Without proper representation in government, places can literally get screwed over by the representatives from other districts that do not know what another area needs specifically.
