Yay for freespeech!

I'm having a hard time taking Trump's administration seriously. They might say things that sound good, feel good, but sometimes their actions show they actually believe the opposite.

Define illegal

Listen, I'm not defending the destruction of property or anything adjacent to such a thing. There are laws in the book for that, and anyone defending arson should really do some soul searching, but this doesn't mean this is not a slippery slope.

The conditional funding, the threat, is handed out like the most complex of IKEA builds with no instructions. It's up to you to figure it out, but you better not mess up.

Some of the MAGA members were quick to inform us "libtards" (nothing could be further from the truth), that all you have to do is get a permit, and all is good. In other words, get permission to protest and protest all you want.

Ahhhh get permish

There is absolutely no way that's going to curtail free speech at all, yes, they are right. All people have to do is get a permit. Why didn't I think of that?

I mean, it's not like the government would say, non publicly of course, "Don't you dare allow pro Palestine protests or else", to a college or something. They would never go that far, they've shown us their commitment to free speech so many times.

  • Trump showed his commitment when he sued the media more than a dozen times.
  • Trump showed his commitment when he sued Maher for a joke
  • Trump showed his commitment when he kicked AP from the White house
  • Trump showed his commitment when he threatened to revoke Broadcast licenses in 2017
  • Trump showed his love for the first amendment when signed an executive order targeting Section 230 of the Communications Decency Act, which shields online platforms from liability for user content. Prompted by Twitter fact-checking his tweets.
  • And let's not forget when he issued directives restricting government employees’ expression. He just ordered that that federal agencies to cease communications on topics like diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI), environmental justice, and “gender ideology", and this happened a few weeks ago.

What else do you want?

If these actions don't show unwavering commitment for the first amendment then I don't know what does.

I'm so glad free speech is back.

MenO

Sort:

Did you take that directly from his Twitter, or get it from somewhere else? I can't see it on the Twitter feed at least.

its from his truth social... he has an agreement to communicate from there.. ha!

No worries. I haven't gone there at all.

You are not missing out, I promise.

Yeah man, nothing screams freedom like needing a permission slip to protest. Classic move, saw what they did there 🤣 Free speech, but make it conditional... Got it 🤦

it makes perfect sense if you don't think about it

hahaha I get the point Meno 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

Define illegal

its lovely

"What else do you want?"

Oh, Bush era free speech zones, debtor's prison, RWDS's and ad hoc lynchings, you know, the usual.

Thanks!

bigly stuff like you wouldn't believe... just look at what's happening
