Swamp Yachts of The Wealthy!

In my hometown, Hull, Massachusetts (Nantasket Beach), a small peninsular jutting into the outer mouth of Boston's harbor, town taxpayers and state taxpayers team up to pay for dredging a channel leading to the main beach's Steamboat Wharf. Problem is the only ones benefiting from the expensive $500,000 dredging are owners of yachts that navigate this shallow channel with deep keels.

In the olden days, large paddleboats or steamboats would transport nicely-dressed ordinary citizens from Boston to the beach where they could rent an affordable room or a shanty and stay for a nice vacation. Any dredging done in those days would have been for the good of many people.

Now that I've read David Sirota's investigative reporting (see below link) and given that my pad overlooks the bay, I'll have to pull out my binoculars or 19th century telescope in order to determine what flags these yachts are flying. Let's see whose double-dipping--lol!

Welfare for the wealthy is a wonderful concept, is it not?
