I would personally not say that it´s the politicians themselves who are the people responsible for the screwing over. They are just like you said, puppets of the ruling class which are the richest capitalists. I don´t understand how it would be in any way possible for the world NOT to continue like this while we are living in a capitalist system.

I respectfully disagree that we live in a capitalist system , theres no capital in the system for a start its all debt. Plus the very obvious bailing out of huge banking interests that are "too big to fail" thats the complete opposite to a capitalist system where the free market should decide if a business sinks or swims not the state. Capitalism would have no central planning either, so no central banking, no central intelligence etc. This system is an oligarchy, a corperatocracy, a kleptocracy , a plutocracy maybe ..... one thing it isn't is what mainstream tell you it is. Politicians are puppets I agree but willing puppets. They are people who want dominance over others and this makes them at best sociopaths and at worst psychopaths.
