You would think that extremism occurs and festers in faraway places, like the middle east, unfortunately, it’s happening right here, in the United States. Frustration have reached dangerous levels, regardless of which political party you belong to. News of the shooting in Virginia today is alarming, and everyone should give pause, we have to stop the insanity before it’s too late.
I don’t believe in democrats or republicans, neither is working for the peoples’ interest, and eventhough I would support one of them, I never really felt that I belonged. I may agree with one side on some issues, and the other on other issues. Many people feel the same way, unfortunately, we end up siding with one political party against the other, we feel we have no other options.
This is where frustration sets in, people feel hopeless, and extremism starts. We need to start migrating to the middle of the political spectrum, and understand that we have to be tolerant of the other sides’ view, as long as we get those politicians to do their job and actually produce something. We shouldn’t care what political party the politician belongs to, how long they’ve been serving, or how powerful they are, if they don’t produce, let’s throw all the bums out.
Myself, I’m not thinking local politics anymore, and I don’t care how much money a certain politician is bringing to our state, if the overall performance of congress doesn’t improve, I’m voting against them. I hope my fellow Americans would start doing the same, let’s think collective benefits for the whole country, not the state, for the state not the county, for the county not the city.
Finally, violence is violence, if it comes from the left or the right, no excuse for it, and it doesn’t accomplish anything. Let’s elect people who represent the majority, who can move our country towards a prosperous, nonviolent future.
Hahahaha @evanrvoss
Share peace 🤠
Peace bro! :)
You're right, but I don't think we can compare extremism and terrorism in the US with the middle east. People there truly suffer on daily basis, the chances that you end up shot dead or even blown up to pieces are very high and are nowhere near what you have in the US. But like you said, violence is violence, without any excuses.
I appreciate the sentiment, I really do, but that is so much easier said than done. There are, in fact, issues that divide us, a "culture war" as they call it, like in the 60's and 70's.
Do you support Abortion? Do you support helping refugees? Do you support involvement in the middle east? Show gay's be allowed to marry? Should firearm background checks be expanded? Should the wealthy pay more taxes? Should healthcare be universal?
So on and so forth. These are issues that legitimately divide populations in this country, and on many there is no middle ground or compromise. There is no middle ground between Gays being allowed to marry or not. They either can or they can't. There is no middle ground on whether or not a woman can get an abortion, no middle ground on whether or not transgendered folk can use the restroom of their gender identity. There is no middle ground on raising taxes on the wealth or not, expanding gun control or not. These things will either happen, and one side will be very upset, or they will not, and the other side will be upset.
I'm not entirely sure how to resolve this, how to get one side or the other to soften on their pet issues and be ok with concessions to the other side. I don't know how to make that happen, but it is certainly a complicated problem.
I agree there are many issues that we may not agree on, and there is no way one side is going to get all. We should learn to live with it, compromise, win some and lose some. It should't be the end of the world if I'm against gay marriage, and the majority wants it, I'll learn to deal with it, the same way other people have to deal with ideas and positions I support. Believe me a lot of people are coming to realize this, and eventually we will come to terms with it.
In France it is a banker who took the power with his "political party of the middle".
He is getting the majority in the assembly so no oppisition.
Welcome to Monarchy, France is headed by a King Banker.
It's not going to be fun in the next few years.
Let's keep the hope up, that's the whole point.
Divide and conquer is the oldest strategy in the book. The political theater is just that. Smoke and mirrors to keep the public divided so the can continue to rob us blind.
I totally understand how you feel in this article. Both the left and the right are extremely out of control. More so the left at the moment. Don't let the mainstream make you feel like you have to pick a side you don't. I recommend checking out the libertarian party. Were just all about freedom
Honestly my friend, it doesn't matter to me anymore what party a politician belongs to. Like I wrote, it should be collective punishment regardless of which party they associate with, you fail, you all pay the price, till you learn to work together for the people who sent you there.
I don't believe in collective punishment. I think individuals should be held responsible for there actions. This is why I'm a big advocate for privatizing everything. Private companies can be held responsible. Government will never be held responsible until we all unite and do something
U should watch G Griffins take on this 2 party system. Great article! YT: G. Edward Griffin: The Collectivist Conspiracy
Thanks dolte, will do.
I actually did a blog post about this subject.
Great write up! In my opinion political parties and or even communities can and have always caused a divide. The divide is almost always from a lack of understanding. For example, if someone says they represent the communist party, democrats, republicans or what have you a particular set of norms has already been attached. I don’t see it happening anytime soon but the only way to close the gap is getting to know our neighbors without prejudice at all levels. For example, the internet was meant to bring us closer but the average person doesn’t even know the people living on their block or floor of their apartment.
I think most of it comes from fear, fear to budge from a stance or position we take, and that keeps us stuck where we are. Hopefully, more and more people start realizing this. I see it happening, tags are not as effective anymore, and people are realizing it's not getting them anywhere.
Dennis Rodman needs to come back from Korea to promote peace here.
Think this dog is a bit extreme here.
thats life though... Not to be a dick but at what time in human history has there EVER been complete peace.. We as human are just like any animal.. A conflict of survival.. even over stupid things like religion, where your from, the color of your skin, etc. The world isn't getting worse it's just as bad as it was backk in the 1300's , any time B.C, any time frame. Only difference now is we hear about the bad shit alot quicker due to technology. All we can do is our part.. be a good person.. promote peace even though we can never truly achieve it
There exists only One Law:
"No Being shall harm another Being"
Simply abandon those who cannot abide this One Law.
You will discover that politicians exist only to Harm minorities.
The greatest achievement of any Politician is
transforming everyone else into a minority.
peace
