When the FBI raids a lawyers office (like they did to Michael Cohen who is President Trump's personal lawyer) and they may have taken (either purposely or accidentally) documents and communications subject to Attorney–client privilege - how does the FBI and the Justice department put the Genie back in the bottle.
To determine if the communications are subject to Attorney–client privilege, somebody at Justice or the FBI will have to look at them. Once they look at them - they cannot un-see what they saw, they cannot unlearn what they learn from the documents.
Maybe Chinese walls - but I think the FBI and Dept of Justice have destroyed the trust the public once placed in them - to believe Chinese Walls would be sufficient.
How do we know this is not the Deep State trying to take down the duly elected President of the United States?
Given Mueller's aggression, Trump should definitely decline to be interviewed by Mueller and answer written questions instead. If Trump goes into an oral forum, they are sure to trip him on a technicality.
I think Trump should just please the 5th and be done with it.
It make no sense to hand hired guns bullets to shoot you with.
I just watched the president's news conference. Anyone who closely follows politics knows that Mr. Mueller has his own reckoning. It's a sad time for our country.
A very sad time - and the damage may be long lasting.

The subject of every citizen should contribute to supporting the government, as much as possible in accordance with their respective abilities. Maybe it's the best way to keep the Government safe. @ozphil
The government works for the citizens, not the other way around. A lawless government with a different set of rules depending on your politics is very dangerous and a threat to democracy.
The right of a citizen to talk to their attorney in confidence is a critical aspect of the American legal system. It must be protected.
Democracy is good. I say so because the system is bad. 😁
They’ve used Chinese Walls for years. They’ll keep using them. Under the next President and the one after that.
With the corruption that has been exposed at the FBI and DOJ - I think they have lost that luxury.
It will take them a long time (decades) of pristine clean behavior to win the public trust back.
Maybe half the country think there’s something wrong at the FBI. The other half just thinks the FBI is doing its job.
I think your right - but to be effective they need to be trusted by more then 90% to do the right thing.

The Rouge agency, the FBI, loosing credibility daily.
at an accelerating rate.
The FBI has done nothing more than prove our top justice branch is too worried about kissing politicians asses vs being unbiased and doing the job set forth. The absolute sheer magnitude of bullshit that’s come to light should have any one who’s not living in a cave absolutely distrust the FBI. The level of betrayal and sheer disrespect for the country and persons they serve is amazing. And the ridiculous thing is, it just. Keeps. Coming. You have to realize when to fold vs keep bluffing ur clueless. Then do nothing more than a power play for media purposes to get that shit cranked up about raiding Trumps lawyers office at the expense of having who knows what deem not admissible in court bc it was illegally seized and read due to A C privilege.
This is long term damage being done to the faith people place in the FBI, Justice department, and other intelligence agencies. It is a heavy price that will not be paid by the current crop of dirty cops like Comey and McCabe, but it will cost the honest cops that come after them long into the future as they fight with earn the public trust back.
You're exactly right. Not to simplify it but the say a few bad apples spoils the bunch is true here. There will certainly be long term damage. I'm not even sure where they should even start to begin to repair all this. An epic failure of a magnitude that will be talked about for years to come. Decades like you said.
This blatant breach of Attorney-Client Privilege shows they are not even trying to earn the public's trust back.
The first step is to try.
Now almost a week has passed, note that White House staffers say Trump sit's around all day eating and watching TV in a cloud of anger, basically acting unpresidential amid calls from his own party to impeach him! Crazy Clown Car Twitler has us all riding!
