In ancient times pederasty was completely normal (wiki). It wasn't even about sexual attraction, just a social standard.
Yes, people need to see things like that. My reason to argue so is completely different to yours though:
Paedophilia is one thing. @arhag explained it pretty well below.
But child abuse is something different mostly. Only 2-10% of child molesters are pedophiles. The rest are people that usually are attracted to adults, but come to abuse a child because the situation allowed it. Family members in most cases, but also persons of trust like teachers and priests. THOSE are the real problem, not the ones who know and actively think about what's going on with them. You should be glad about those.
