It seems there's not much time left for [the pathetic remnants of] the freedom of speech in Europe. For this reason, here are a few of my favorite ways to circumvent our local censorship schemes:
- The anonymizing software Tor was created for this exact purpose: https://www.torproject.org/
- I've been using it every day for many years;
- It's easy to use;
- Cheap or free virtual machine at Amazon (or elsewhere) in the USA (or elsewhere), through which I direct my internet traffic;
- I've been using it regularly for almost a year;
- It's harder to use;
- Proxy software and/or a minicomputer such as the raspberry pi at a friends's place outside the censored territory;
- I've been using it every day for years;
- It's harder to use;
- Some commercial VPN;
- I haven't used it personally, but I know how it works, etc. I highly recommend it;
- It's easy to use and will probably even have a support team for assistance - you're a paying customer, all the same!
And just in case any of you think that there is no censorship, or that it's appropriate, you should take a look at the GDPR [General Data Protection Regulation] and its effects. Run a search for Article 13, and glance over the second link on this link to the Bulgarian Government Gambling Commission's site: http://www.dkh.minfin.bg/bg/page/439 ... It's a list of web pages Bulgarian internet providers have to prevent access to, even when using a shared hosting service, which potentially prevents access to legitimate pages.

It's sad that you have to resort to these things, we need to stay vigilant, the progressives here in America have declared open war on free speech which is pretty alarming.
I hope you stay vigilant! You have far better tools in my opinion to fight the people who want to take away freedom.
Your culture and history have a huge chunk about fighting for freedom, not only from foreigners as is usually the case in Europe, but from any oppressive government.
You also have your constitution and its amendments, which grant you far stronger rights than we enjoy in Europe. Most of the constitutional rights we have in my country (and its similar elsewhere in the EU) are written in such a way as to allow a law to limit them and we have such laws!
Since nobody is going to just grant us our rights, consider my post as an introduction on the tools that can be used to fight for our rights in the digital age.
We dodged a huge bullet, free speech cases have been being decided on the thinnest of margins, if Hillary had been able to appoint a justice to the supreme court we would be losing our freedom of speech in no time. It's scary to see supreme court justices declaring their opposition to free speech. I am glad you have found and are disseminating tools to allow others at least some measure of free speech, without it there is no way to stop authoritarianism like sharia law or what they have in the UK.
Congratulations @plambe! You have received a personal award!
