Breaking!! The U.S. Government has shutdown due to unsuccessfully passing the bill!

in #politics7 years ago (edited)

The U.S. senate have decided to shutdown its government. It Is due to them having not successfully pass the spending bill. The senate shutdown the government on January 19, 2018, on Friday Midnight. This was because the senate failed to get 10 more votes to pass the needed 60 vote mark.

This means that government agencies such as the CIA, NSA along with others will have no funding to keep them maintained correctly.

They also said the funding for families who earn more than enough money to support themselves will soon get dried up.

With the government shutdown, the CHIP (Children Health Insurance Program) which is designed for poor families, will fluctuate and fail to support and renew the program itself. The last funding also expired on September 2017, who know how much they have in stock right now? Over 8 million children which is supported by the CHIP may be left on its last legs.

The passports and visa’s processing will come to stop until the problem was issued fixed.

“The government shutdown was 100% unavoidable” Said Mitch McConnell who spoke exclusively on the Senate.

Mick Mulvaney, from The Office of Budget, also said “The military will still go to work; they will not get paid. The border will still be patrolled; they will not get paid. Folks will still be fighting the fires out West; they will not get paid.” This means that they will not be paid for the job they’re doing, affecting their daily needs.

In this context, a visa is not a credit card. It is "an endorsement on a passport indicating that the holder is allowed to enter, leave, or stay for a specified period of time in a country." ~wikipedia

It is a partial shutdown. Here's a more detailed explanation of what will and will not continue to operate: https://www.npr.org/2018/01/19/578985305/open-or-closed-heres-what-happens-in-a-partial-government-shutdown
