Zach Galifianakis interviews Hillary Clinton, Real Analysis... and Video

in #politics8 years ago

Zach Galifianakis interviews Hillary Clinton. This is typical Zack but not so typical Hillary. I am very surprised she agreed to do this show because of the unpredictability of Zack. He lives up to his provocative nature with the Trump ad in the middle of the the interview, but that's not all.

No doubt Zack is a supporter of Hillary in real life so his jabs are understood by his loyal followers, but it appears Hillary is not so amused at some of the antics. The opening was clearly staged as Hillary acts like she's looking away openly wondering where's Zack. Her comment about sneaking up on her around the secret service was not convincing but there were real moments later in the interview.

After the introduction the title under Hillary reads, "Hillary Clinton" and under that, "Had Pneumonia", so Zack is going along with that one no doubt for the team. You have to wonder if he's ridiculing the idea that she had pneumonia or the idea that she had "pneumonia".

She sticks with the "sincerity" in giving her answer to the question of being the first "girl" President. The statement about Hillary being the first white President for those under 7.8 years old (the length of the Obama Presidency so far) had Hillary working over time to keep her real feelings for Obama hidden. Her expression betrayed her fight with Obama 8 years ago when she clearly thought herself to be the next in line by some right or debt payment owed to her for putting up with and protecting Bill for all those years.

The bit about her being Secretary of State, asking how Obama liked his coffee was genuinely hillarious, no pun intended. With the coffee question of being "weak" it seemed as if Zack was contrasting Hillary with Obama in military ventures, which Hillary would be more in line with the NeoCons of the Bush era than Obama.

The question on TPP and Hillaries flip flops, Zack tries to be cute by offering advice on what to say. This may have been staged, but it looks like the most sincere thing Hillary said in the whole contrived interview. It looks like she has a problem with taking advice from anyone, hence the reaction saying, "Don't tell me what to say". Zack takes it in stride with his, "Fine. Loose. The country go to shit". He's just joking, right? Of course his is... or is he? Notice that the interview is cut right after he said "shit", so we really don't get a look at Hillaries reaction in real time. There is no way to know how long the interview took or how much of it was edited for effect or time.

The interview is saved upon the mention of Trump. He is who they can agree to hate, so that's the unity. Then it's a few quips about gun control and Hillary expressing regrets for doing the interview. She's not so convincing as an actress but she is when she really means it.

After that it goes into standard fare for political humor setting up Trump with the "White Power" tie scenario. This must have been written for Hillary as much as she would not like to admit it. The least she could do was tell Zack, "Don't tell me what to say" while following the script. All in good fun.

Another of Hillaries real moments was the comparison of Trumps wedding vows to his bowels at which she really chucked, maybe not at the joke itself but at Zack actually saying that to her in public. More Trump bashing would become apparent with the Ivanka and Chealsea chat over boys with crushes, "like her Dad" but to dig a bit deeper, it may be a swipe at the fact that Donald might date Ivanka if she were not his daughter, but wouldn't touch Chealsea with a ten foot pole. This can be researched in interviews Howard Stern did with Trump over the years, on his tastes in women.

Well, Zack is doing his job. Even though he is a Hillary supporter, he does not forget to see reality. That reality is that Trump is probably going to win so he tweaks Hillary once more right in the middle of her speil on "jobs" by interrupting the interview for an advertisement from none other than Donald J. Trump.

You know, the Celebrity Roast of Donald Trump had some funny moments. It looked as though the guy from New Jersey Shore TV show... what ever he or it was called, bombed in roasting Trump and ended up getting more roasting than Trump. There were some crude, rude and socially unacceptable things said of Trump but he just sat there and laughed, considering the angle of each and every one of them. Ivanka was roaring in the audience along with Melania. Does anyone think Hillary could withstand such crude, rude and socially unacceptable behavior, in public? Imagine the vagina jokes of Lisa Lampanelli headed towards Hillary.

Ok. Enough picking on Hillary. What I'd really like to see is Bill Clinton on the Celebrity Roast.

Here's the video. See for yourself.
