The Russian president, Vladimir Putin, signed a decree to modify the regulations of the Armed Forces. The corresponding document was published on January 22.

According to one of the changes, if a commander congratulates a soldier or announces his gratitude to him, the latter must respond "I am serving Russia!". Previously, they had to say: "I am serving the Russian Federation!".

Article 1 of the country's Constitution establishes that the Russian Federation and Russia are equivalent names.
