I'm thankful today that things are going to be okay.
In the past 23 years, the world has been on a dark trajectory. The bastions of freedom and prosperity, the western developed nations, embarked on a fast slide into totalitarianism and decline.
For those just watching the mainstream news, major politicians, and prominent culture, it looks like everything has been doing worse and worse.
Government has grown in power in almost every conceivable way. Civil liberties have been eroded, wealth has been destroyed, safety has declined, and every institution imaginable has been captured.
But the counter-revolution has been quietly taking place.
Decentralized money, the cryptocurrency world, is on the verge of toppling central bank hegemony in only 15 short years, despite major setbacks.
Privacy tech is stronger than ever, in an age of unprecedented surveillance.
Social media and the content creator economy has completely up-ended the media's stranglehold on the war of ideas.
Almost every aspect of human society is quietly being rebuilt in favor of sovereignty. We. Are. Winning.
Don't be discouraged. We're going to be okay.
Sometimes it's darkest before the storm. And I definitely felt that a few months ago. I've seen many friends and colleagues get thrown in prison, have their livelihoods ruined, and have their reputations destroyed. It looked dark.
But things are turning around. I promise.
Keep paying attention to the crumbs of news that show up beneath the surface. Things will appear to change overnight, but the signs were there all along.
Today, I'm thankful that we're winning.

Agree with your view. Things have been getting darker in the ex-Soviet space too and that's why so sad to see erosion of some Western countries. And, yup, crypto brings hope in many fields.
