RE: 10 Million Russians March - Crickets in Western Media

in #politics7 years ago (edited)

That big budget Russian war machine is 10% of that of the U.S. or 40% of France, Germany, Italy, and GB combined. It's less than Saudi Arabia spends. When was the last time you heard the NY Times worrying over the huge amount of Saudi military spending.

100% agree. The mass media in action.

You see, the goal of these marches is to remember those that gave their lives and/or limbs to save their country from an evil plague that swept through Europe

ummmm, but remember.. the communism, it was terrible for europa´s east, even the russians suffered it, Hittler was bad, but stalin mamma mia.. Berlin, how many women they raped? we must be objetives my friend

...to claim that images of Stalin are prevalent. There may be some of those, but I couldn't find a single one in 1 hour of video footage and photos. I found many of Jesus though...

interesting

It is a shame that many Westerners don't realize that the Russian people are not much different than other Europeans and Americans. They all want better lives for their children, nicer homes, and maybe a nicer car. They love their families and take great pride in the accomplishments of their ancestors especially those that stood in the face of fascism

great , but no only in the face of fascism. Dont forget, too many russian dead by stalin´s hands with their communism

By the way, I like your post, I've never seen pictures of this

Thanks my friend

There is no doubt that the political oppression of the Soviet state was obscene. Nobody debates that. However, these are two unrelated issues. You will find very few statues of Stalin anywhere in Russia.
