RE: The Social Democratic Case Against Anarchism

in #politics7 years ago

If the extremes of inequality are eliminated, so that there are no really wealthy people or really poor people, then no one will have the economic power that allows one man to dominate others.

There will always be the possibility that one man dominates another, it is biology, it is not about money. Also, eliminate inequality, is to eliminate the freedom of men.

I have always seen communists, socialists and anarchists as brothers. Personally I believe that any society can choose the model of government that they want and that fits their needs, but what will really make the difference are the people who hold power, if they are corrupt or if they are moral men, they are competent people or if they are useless. That is what ultimately decides how prosperous a nation is, it will always be the people who decide. Equality in itself, should never be an objective, at best it would be a means, but we must decide what is more important, whether freedom or equality, and I think that there lies in a larger political confrontation, between egalitarianism and freedom. I differ from Mr. Popper in thinking that the government should use force to equal people.

But your totally okay with government using force in order to create systems of property and enforce special privileges for property owners?

Special privileges? not. But I agree that the State uses force to protect private property. I do not see where the problem could be with that.
