I have heard this argument many times before. In order to justify voting for the insane, immoral, and corrupt system that has never worked in the best interest of the people it claims to serve. It seems no one ever notices that they always work to their own benefit, and they spin their plan in the media by repeating it, by repeating it. It doesn't seem to matter what party they are in, they are both working toward the same agenda: to stay in power. When will people catch on?
This argument of choosing the lesser of two evils sounds to me like you’re only choosing whether you want to die by drowning in 1ft of water or with a plastic bag on your head. Either way you are going to suffocate, but hey at least you get to choose the lesser of two evils. Hilarious choices aren't they?
And what I don’t see is a choice to not have anyone in charge, a choice not to have more laws created without the consent of the governed, a choice not to have the continuation of maintaining the status quo, a choice to save my tax money from going to someone I don’t support.
But this is the way things have continued, even though only about 35% of the population actually votes in elections, and only about 10% of those people have done any research on “their candidate(s).”
The candidates have been bought and paid for by special interests, which is why nothing ever changes. And people remain gullible because they all want to believe in the tiniest hope that things will get better, a manipulation of one of our oldest and most important survival instincts. Humanity had to create hope long ago in order to survive without it we would have let ourselves perish the moment things got tough.
But I implore you, don’t hold onto false hope, take what you know and make the change yourself in the best way you can. Reach outside your comfort zone and push against the manipulation that someone else will save the day. Create hope in yourself, the people you care about, and everything you do.
