Won't they be returned when the transaction fails? I thought that when there wasn't an actual wallet to receive the transaction, that it would eventually be returned to the sending wallet.
This has happened with BTC and ETH, though a lot of platforms won't even accept the transaction unless the wallet address is in the right format/structure for that particular instrument.

Yeah, I've seen the disclaimer. I only messed up in sending once, with a small amount of BTC. It came back after a while, but I can't recall how long it took. Seems like it was hours, not days.
Hopefully you get it. Not a staggering loss, but all losses hurt, especially when you invest in so much potential.
