I tried to transfer some 100.1 steem to my steemit wallet, from poloniex. Steemit Directions said use the Memo key. Did I use the wrong key? Im so upset with myself. I should have tested a smaller amount than 100.1 steem. Im sick.. I put my name bamajeff in the Memo Box and My Memo key in the address box. The amount 100.1 in the amount box. I still haven't received it in my wallet. Is it gone forever?
Hello @bamjeff I happened to have transferred some yesterday, so still remember the process. The transfer took maybe an hour or less. Did you go to your wallet, then Permission, and then used the last key (which says MEMO) starting with STM? If yes, then I don't see anything wrong and maybe it's a delay on the part of Poloniex. If you put any other key, then there might be an issue, and unfortunately, I'm not experienced enough to tell you what if anything could be done to reverse the transaction (probably in that case I'd make a ticket to Poloniex). Hope all ends well!
Im seeing an error under withdraw history, but I haven't received or been credited the 100.1 steem..
Contact support. They are slow right now but they are really good at fixing these things.
Ty. Following you..
And they haven't been restored to your poloniex wallet either? Maybe you should really raise a support ticket with Polo...
Ty cloudzombie. I did a support ticket. My first one.. Following you..

It's probably not lost, as if you put something that long into the address box it probably didn't transfer out of the exchange. Contact your exchange, they probably still have the coins. The address would be "bamajeff", and the memo is whatever you want - it's just a note on the transaction.
You don't use the Memo key for that - where did you read that?
Best of luck.
Ty, following you..
