Some day ago I made an express trip to Pompeii because I was invited by an old italian friend o mine to test one of the best restaurants in the whole Amalfi coast, the michelin star awarded "President". We had the "big tasting menu" for two and I have to tell you that it was outstandingly good, really well balanced dishes based on an open minded vision of italian gastronomy. Here are some pics that I took that night, the first dish was my absolute favorite one, a poached egg served on a silano cheese fondue with shaved black truffle on top. The presentation of the dishes was also extraordinary, one can see that Paolo Gramaglia, the head Cheff, has a very unique way of conceiving food!
The price/quality of this place was really good, a big tasting menu was about eighty euros for nine dishes. Its not a budget meal but we are talking about prime michelin level cuisine.
Do you like italian cuisine? Have you already been in the ancient city of Pompeii?
