?: Would you ever take a life?
Me: I'm a good person why would I ever think to hurt let alone kill someone, I don't even step on ants for crying out loud?! How could I? No I would never.
?: BUT!!....
What if there was a series of unfortunate unforeseen unavoidable string of events led you to a predicament with the ability to save 1000 people that are in imanent life threatening danger or save the one your holding on to at the moment and the only other option is everyone parishes.
Me: hmmm 🤔 (long pondering pause) ......
?: and now think about your answer If that one person is someone you knew or even loved. Now lets conplicate it even more with a cloud of doubt that other loved ones may or may not be in the 1000 What would you Do?
Me: 😮 (longer pondering pause)....
Think about your initial answer and feelings and how they changed as you continued to read. This question when i first heard it made me really think about the good, right, bad, wrong, and all the shades of decisions in between combined with the uncertainty that comes up when linked with circumstances, time, state of mind and emotions of the moments in making and leading up to a life altering decision.
In times of such decisions take a breath weigh the options and make your choice and move on. I follow the motto of more is lost with indicision than a wrong decision because you can learn most from a wrong decision, celebrate a good one, or miss an opportunity to do either and stay where you are.
