ICO's the new HYIP ?

in #ponzi7 years ago (edited)

So,

This is a question I have been asking myself for a couple of weeks now.
I don't know how many of the crypto community has come across the High-yield investment plans.

For those of you that don't know what HYIP's are. Here's a quick explanation.

A high-yield investment program (HYIP) is a type of Ponzi scheme, an investment scam that promises unsustainable high return on investment by paying previous investors with the money invested by new investors.

Okay so moving on..

Yes you can make great money from it, but 99.9% of the time, you will lose everything that you have invested.
The reason being, the more you invest, the bigger the returns, but on the flip-side, the more you invest, the more you can lose as-well.

I think that a lot of people that are in the crypto space are schooled enough in knowing that investing in HYIP is a very big gamble, and as such, moved away from investing in them.

In steps ICO's.
Now don't get me wrong, I am not saying all ICO's are bad, but I can already see Scammers / Ponzi schemes being pushed onto the unsuspecting crypto crowd.

All I ask is that you please do some investigation before investing in just any ICO that has a pretty and professional website.

I will be doing my own research and pass it on to the community here.

I am in no way an expert, but I have been around the block a few times to know what to look for :)

Here is one that I found that is very very dodgy. for me at least.

I am busy with a new Post as to why this was not an ideal ICO to invest in.
I will point out some issues that I could pick up from just doing a little bit of investigation.

I hope to be a valuable member of the cryptosphere.

Thank you for reading.
