The temperatures have cooled here in Minneapolis. I am sitting in at a cafe table as the breezes sweep through the open door nearby and wash over me.
Some old world Beck plays through my headphones that are turned up loud, the rich vibes feel ripe this day.
Lush.
Digging around in Lightroom, it is a fine line between the here and the now and then. This contest has me on memory lane and that is a good thing. I have chosen to post the following images based on the fact that they have so far stayed under the radar, now today they get a shine.
Be well.
Sure, I have the shot where she looks straight at me with infinity in her eyes. Doesn't matter, she is a photographer and with that Hasselblad medium format camera Crystal finds ceremony.
My take on the self portrait in a cell phone self portrait. Is it cliche? Yes, and I say grains of sand, I like this image to this day.
I have taken a lot of portraits of Corynn, more than anyone. Sometimes she just wasn't ready to face me head on and rather fight it I went with her. The following two portraits were shot as I waited for her. As in between these images may be, I love them.
Corynn on 35mm b&w film. I scanned this in and forgot about. It is simple and wonderful to me. I shot as a test shot and it may actually be the best of that days lot.
The portrait of a portraiter. Zoey shoots wet plates and his mobile studio is famous in my world. Here he is reflected in his ground glass while a model prepares to be documented on metal film.
In all the hundreds portraits and images I have of Becky, this is one where her eyes are most authentic.
I went with this as a fun one. Shot while Sarah limbers up for a yoga shoot. I'll also note that sometimes Sarah visits me in my dreams and when she does her left eye is often obscured.
Thanks for hanging with me.
Since I find this fun, I may lay down one more post of entries. In any case take great care out there friends.
wow I love you photoes! i am just starting out in photography which camera is a good one to start off, i can afford like $1500.
Hi. I like the Canon t6i (make sure it is the "i" model) if you want a DSLR. If you prefer a mirror-less camera, the Sony a6000 and a6300 are great. The Panasonic Lumix gx85 has been on clearance at Adorama photography if you are in the USA. It is a great starter camera and with a great lens set was under $600.
Best bet would be to start with a second hand set with some lenses, you can find those for even under $350. Use the rest to get a good tripod, flashgun and a bag for all stuff. Extra batteries come in handy too.
My set consists of a Canon EOS 550D (Rebel T2i), Sigma ART 50 mm 1.4, two kit lenses, an ultra wide angle zoom, and three vintage primes.
If you need weather proofing, consider Pentax, they have good, affordable weather proofed cameras with a wide range of lenses.
