Holy Family, Ukraine 2005, c-Print

paschewa003.jpg

Since many years I visit small villages and put up my mobile portrait studio. Shot on a 4x5 film that was last produced in 2002, only one negative per portrait, I develop and print the pictures on site in my bus (on the picture below it's still my old van-caravan setup). It is an amazing experience, to first hand the pictures to the persons depicted (befor showing it to the world).

I take portraits of people with whom I have good encounters; an interesting story, a shared cigarette, a bottle of vodka, or both; maybe they helped me, maybe I helped them. These are my holy people!

Steemit is a great experience for me!Thanks @walter-v-ac, I will post more from this series in the next weeks.

Interesting picture. I appreciate you keeping the film process alive. Shooting large format is a completely different experience than snapping a digital picture. Thank you for all the work it takes to scan slides and present here.

yeah, it's the difference between snapping and making pictures ;)
thanks @andrewking!
