A fellow tourist took this picture of my friend and I a couple years ago while we were exploring this mountain full of crystals and garnets, thus the name Chrystal Mountain. It is in a remote area of central Idaho. The Mountain is solid quarts! Amazing in itself. This area was mined for many years for the Garnets and Chrystals. It is a wonderful day trip and at the foot of the mountain is my favorite hotsprings. :) Great way to finish the day with a good hot soak. I am on the right in this photo, with the Miller Highlife T shirt. Yep, one of my favorite adult beverages. Cold Beer!

I would love to go there! My favorite place to go is Franklin, NC to the gem mines there. Larry and I use to go at least every 2 or 3 years, but I haven't gone since he passed. Can't talk the kids into going with me and I'm afraid to try to go that far by myself.
Franklin just has this peaceful energy about it. I could stay there forever!
Grab a lady friend and go for it. :) I don't know much about rocks, but I sure have quite a collection.
