RE: A Story of My Dark Days In Life: Living with Debilitating Fear, My Most Terrifying Experience, and Overcoming My Greatest Fear For A Complete Life Transformation

in #positivity8 years ago

Although our paths haven't been exactly the same since, I recognise those early situations - the debilitating shyness, being bad at sports, not being able to make a speech in class for starters. I got round the speech by writing a humorous poem about giving a speech, with my dad's help. I was able to recite that, where I couldn't have done the speech. The teacher growled at me for not doing the assignment, but I got away with it. We've both come a long way since then.

Yes. Well I can honestly say that I was debilitatingly terrified. I tried to read off a piece of paper too but passed out, LITERALLY.
I have come a VERY long way indeed. I am grateful you feel you have evolved as well. Nothing better than evolution!
Hope to witness your empowered self!

Skipping a class at age 10 didn't help my shyness any either!
My parents paid for me to have private speech and drama lessons, because I spoke so fast I gabbled. Although I wasn't any good at it, I think it probably taught me the difference between performing and being myself. So in my 20s and early 30s I was in a lot of dance recitals and musicals, which I loved, as long as I was in a group. But I didn't start overcoming my fear of speaking as myself till I was in my 40s (posted a bit about that in my entry for the positivity challenge). Thank you EFT!
On another note, if the linkback bot hasn't already told you, I linked to one of your @gardenofeden recipes in my post about Real Food Breakfasts.
You probably haven't heard of the Koanga Institute in New Zealand, but their mission is to save the heritage seeds. The also have an eco village. We visited them a couple of years ago, so were already familiar with the concept of a rocket stove.

Yes fear and programming can be very difficult to change. Thankfully we were able to and reap the rewards of living more fully.
Awesome about Koanga, we need a lot more projects like that.
ITs why I founded The GOE so as to provide real solutions for the many real problems of this world. I have not seen any organization more on point, but that is subjective and I am aware that everything has its roll.
Thanks for sharing~*~
