Tree Agama (South Africa)

As I said in my previous post, with spring and the warmth that it brings we also have a flurry of wildlife and activity that springs to life with all the excitement of a new season. We see old familiar faces start showing up and standing tall and proud, showing off all the colours and vibrancy nature has to offer.

Always great to see everything come back to life. Walking through my garden and the forest and again being able to appreciate nature in all it's splendor, This little guy the Tree Agama, the ground Agama which is more grey and not as flamboyant they are found here in South Africa, has such brilliant colours it is hard not to take notice, he usually just parks off and allows me to snap away and get some really great photos while he soaks in the sun.

Of course with the warm wheather comes some of the less welcome creepy crawly's. This guy popped out too showing of his beautiful patterns, but one needs to be very careful when it comes to this guy, this is the Puff Ader, roaming around my garden, not a good idea to get tangled up with him, as he is quite venomous and should not be played with too much.

Happy Thursday everyone, have a blessed day.

Power House Creatives _night mode.png

Sort:

Both out to play, both in spectacular health, lucky day outdoors.

Playing with Puffy definitely one to give wide berth @michaeljn excellent photography especially on the Blue Headed Agama. Our lizard is out to play with bright dress to attract the girls, have not had enough stealth mode to get this close.

@tipu curate

@joanstewart indeed wide berth needed for Puffy, but yes they are stunning, somehow Mr Agama, let me come close as I possibly could, without zoom. hence the clear pic. loving the warmer days we having :-)
thank you for checking in, I haven't been around for a while with covid and lockdown things slowed a tad.

Just saw the lady Agama out on the rocks while walking the dog, sun-tanning along with many fat Skinks and huge black Shongololo between the plants, Oh yes it has warmed up. No, I don't like summer, change of season is awesome seeing everything on the move once again.

FYI Powerhousecreatives is now LifeStyleLounge, some other great communities to look into AmazingNature, SilverBloggers and golden oldie (been here forever) Qurator, plenty of others be sure to take a look when you have time. Have a great day, yes this covid has thrown everyone into disarray!

ok, so I should stop using the powerhouse creatives footer then? do we have new script to use to advertise the others?

Yes, if you have Discord account all is available, then search channels of interest.

You're out there handing out with Puff while I'd be scared to death.

She even waited for paparazzi, splendid.

Haha, Not hanging out, just saying hello, trying not to get too close. lol

That Agama's colours are unreal hey? I simply love these lizards. Great photos.

The Puffy looks like a fair size, nice to know there are still some of the bigger ones out and about in suburban areas. Not the kind of thing that you want to surprise in the garden though, I've been struck at by a Puffy and it was exceptionally scary even as a trained snake handler.

Look forward to more of these lovely animals :)

Cheers

Andy

@andrastia Thank you for your comment. Yes they are scary. One has to just be careful around them
