This Momma is So Old
Next year this household will be celebrating a young'un double digits, yikes! Time really flies for sure.
We celebrated my oldest's 9th birthday last weekend and he cannot wait to be 10 already :(
He cannot wait to be a teen, cannot wait for them braces, acne, hairy body and all hahahaha
This year he wanted a Vault Boy character on his cake, a mascot character from Fallout, a video-game.
Serasa Tua Banget Gua, Hiks!
Minggu lalu anakku yang sulung merayakan ulang tahunnya yang ke - 9. Tahun depan dah dua angka aja deh, ga terasa.
Dia ga sabar untuk 2020 segera tiba karena begitu umur dia menjadi 10 tahun, dia pikir dia sudah remaja hahahah Ga sabar mau jerawatan, bulu kaki, bulu ketek, bulu manapun :P untuk segera keluar. Ada-ada saja yak. Belum tau dia bahwa itu semua, ga seru hahaha
Tahun ini dia minta dibuatin kue yang ada gambar Vault Boy-nya dia bilang, yaitu karakter dari video-game yang judulnya Fallout.
Another birthday that made me glad that I did not have to prepare a complicated cake. It seems the older they get, they understand the many hours the momma would have spent should they ask a rather hard cake to make, and in their words, they'd rather spend the time with me. Aawwww, my heart hahaha
But yeah, seriously, this was was super easy, less than 3 H, all done. Just had to wait the cakes to cool, then prepared the cream, the ganache, and a short time drawing the character. Phew.
We had chocolate cake with chocolate spread filling and peppermint buttercream, which then topped with dark chocolate ganache. In a way or two, taking the inspiration from grasshopper pie/cake.
Bersukur anakku ga minta kue yang neko-neko. Mereka mulai sadar kalau mereka minta yang ribet-ribet, emaknya bakalan berjam-jam ngedekem di dapur, dan mereka bilang, lebih baik waktunya dipakai untuk main bareng mereka. Wadao, pas denger kata-kata seperti itu, trenyuh deh, senengnya mereka masih kecil tapi pengertian :D
Kue ulang tahun dia terinspirasi sama kue/pai yang dikenal dengan sebutan grasshopper disini, yaitu kombinasi cokelat dan mint, serta berwarna hijau, baik krim ataupun kue/pai nya. Jadi kue diatas rasa kuenya cokelat, ku kasih isian selai cokelat tengahnya, dan kututup sama buttercream hijau rasa peppermint, terus kusiran sama cokelat ganache. Jadi deh.
Untuk bikin karakter Vault Boy-nya, hanya gambar dikit diatas fondant dengan menggunakan pensil pewarna khusus makanan. Bener-bener ga ribet :D
But my gosh, he is only 9 and he is so savage already. Look what he did to his cake as soon as it was placed on the table right in front of him, for candle blowing hahahahhaah
I wonder what he would do next year then!
Anakku baru aja 9 tahun, tapi dah mulai nakalan nih. Coba lihat apa yang terjadi sama kuenya. Ga mau nunggu dipotong, jadi sama dia di gigit langsung hahaha Wadao.
