Hello Hive Blockchain!

This is a new dawn brought about by the unlikeliest of circumstances and a community reaction. I have had a new blog window open since Friday, occasionally dropping in an image and getting the error message. Not being the one to become frustrated at a less than perfect 1.0 launch, I have been patiently waiting for the dust to settle and the time to post my first post.

This is not going to be an earth shattering revelation or grand adventurous tale as much as a breaking of the ice and a sharing of thoughts. Here are a few of my thoughts coming into this wild new frontier.

  • Community - This block chain happened because of a community. Debatably one of the best communities in blockchain as it is made up of individual, real and active folks. Not a blockchain created so that a community would form. A community that formed and elected to turn that into a blockchain. Solid.
  • Seller - On the old blockchain, there was a business transaction that ultimately lead to the creation of this chain. I am thinking of the seller in this transaction as someone who was past due leaving due to the lack of execution and dedication to the community. I am wondering what is going through his mind watching this all unfold.
  • Buyer - I am thinking about the powerplayer who purchased a big stake, shed some light on this dusty old room, and hinted at the possibility of revitalizing things. Then I am thinking about the blunders he made doing his diligence, the way he blamed that misstep on the seller, and started swinging fists at the community as the only other fighter left in the fight.
  • Value - I am thinking value of the currency. The years I and many other folks put into becoming a part of a community, the big investment made in a stake, and the value of each. Will STEEM become valuable without the resistance of the old school witnesses and community members wary of the new swinging dick? Will HIVE take on the value to match that which we place personally in the community? I can see each having value but can there be 2 winners?
  • Excitement - I am thinking about the liberation that many feel with starting a project like this with the folks we have come to know and like on a personal level. I am thinking about the renewed passion shown by DAPP developers and rewards that can come to the early adopter. I am wondering what is next, excited at the prospects and happy to be a part.

I am excited to have built up a very strong network, a brand and a bit of blogging chops, and the new start that will make for another exiting chapter. I am thinking about the friends who have taken a break of widely varying lengths and anticipating seeing a few surprise guests returning. I am also very excited at the new folks I will meet as we shed the bots and dust that polluted our follower list back there.

Most of all, I am pumped to be back again, delivering aggrandized stories and deep musings to those of us who have supported each other in the past. Happy to be a part of the well-named Powerhouse Creatives who have been preparing to blaze an inclusive trail and happy to welcome people into the fold. Those I will meet and support will be the icing on this fantastic HIVE cake.

Well met and thanks in advance for the warm welcome. We have work to do.
