My biggest Power Up yet!!!
I couldn't help but see that despite this epic crash we are having that we are receiving Steem again instead of SBD. I kept thinking to myself that if my Steem Power gets high enough I would power up all my Steem that I made over the summer. This way I can power up all the way to 300 in Steem Power. Make my vote worth 2 cents finally so I can give you all my two cents worth LOL.
After powering up I couldn't help but notice that my vote is still only worth a penny. I figured as the price of Steem falls our votes would be worth more but in fact it is indeed the exact opposite.
In fact, I went over to Steem Now and started playing with the calculator some to find out exactly how much Steem was worth and what. I had to know how far off from 2 cents I was. After a few minutes of screwing around I discovered the number and it was HORRIFYING! A whole 594 in Steem Power before your vote is worth 2 cents. WOW! So all this hard work hording all this Steem I made all summer long and I'm still only halfway to two cents? WTF!? Don't believe me!? go over to Steem Now and see for yourself! Might even be higher over 600 by now as the price keeps falling! rolls eyes
Awhile back when Steem hit $1 my vote was worth 2 cents and that was when my power was down at 190. Of course my vote wasn't worth 2 cents for very long as the price of Steem started falling again. So I was really excited to be powering up this much all the way up to 300SP. As the price of Steem keeps crashing it will be WAY over 600 Steem Power before my vote is worth 2 cents. This makes the big 500 Steem level not worth it when your vote will still only be worth a penny. Here it is it has taken me 8 months to get this far. Probably a year before I make it to 500. And my vote will still only be worth a penny :-(. All we can hope for is a big spike in price. If Steem goes back up to $1 will that make my vote at 300SP worth 3 cents? Or more? How much will 300SP be worth if Steem goes even higher? Either way I find this discouraging. I'm even more discouraged now then I was over the summer.
In the mean time with the price of Steem at 30 cents I would encourage everyone who has any SBD to convert that into Steem doubling down. Just keep stacking the pennies. That is all we can do. sigh HODL as they say.

A huge advantage over the other chains once transactions swell again.

I think you're getting in at the right time...I first got in at 80 cents and I'm lucky, a few weeks later and I'd really be stuck right now. Long term, it has good upside potential
