RE: Why I Just Bought $1600 Steem and Powered Up Plus Enter My Steemfest2 Giveway!

in #powerup7 years ago

You show yourself as someone who truly cares about Steemit, and you lead by example. And who could ask for a better inspiration than that?

Self-votes don't really make sense (even though it's the default when you write a new post); it always seemed to me like going to amazon and buying copies of your own book, and then pointing at "how well sales are going."

Well, I will be totally transparent here: I am interested in survival and my own investment. My investment is mostly in time, as I spent 12 hours a day on this site, for nearly a year. I consider it a place that I feel I can make a difference in, and I want to protect my own Steem investment, too.

I was fascinated by that post from Jerry too and studied it for trends. Quite a number of the least generous voters are also powering down so it seems they do not share your optimism and hope. Good for them if it is time to leave and do something else.

But I sure hope this excellent platform survives and thrives. I feel like I can do well here if I persist and work as hard as you do at it. I'm surely putting in the hours now :)

I think there will be a market here, and even during the low price of steem times, we were still earning. It was certainly depressing, but it was still working.
What i worry about is the over complex nature of this. I feel that a competitor could simplify it....

lol - Out of at least 20 places I have posted in the 6+ years I've been at this - nothing else comes close to the complexity. I can't believe I have put so much time in and I tell myself it is paying off even though I still know almost nothing and have hundreds of unanswered questions on my list.

yeah, that's a great analogy! I care more about what others think of me, than what i think of myself. Success is measured in the lenses of other people's eyes. So, I have a new challenge for myself.

I am truly inspired. Thank you for sharing. I just joined the community here two weeks ago and felt that I needed to upvote my own post to show if no one else cares, I do. But now having to see this post, I'm seeing there is no need to show proof that someone likes me to persuade the next reader to hit that upvote button. If no one is responding than that simply means its time to do a little more research and crafting so that I am putting forth quality material. Thanks again for this share.

well you're new, and i have been here for over a year. I think newbies have a difficult challenge.....persistance pays more than anything else.
