It gives users an idea about how to vote so that platform has maximum diversity among witnesses. I try to vote for those witnesses who are not voting for each other e.g. @clayop, @smooth.witness. They seem to be representing a different set of interests than others. I don't say that one is good vs other but saying that we need to elect witnesses who have different interest so that a natural and healthy competitive environment gets promoted.
Extremely noob question here, but what power do witnesses have? I know we can cast our vote for them. Do they get to vote on hard forks? It seems a lot of power delegated to a few people. Hope to hear a reply, thanks.
Again your posts are very informative. This too is no different. Highly useful to protect the network.
