In oil and gas exploration industry, post discovery of hydrocarbons, reservoir characterization is a crucial step.

Large amount of data is collected in order to accurately estimate the hydrocarbon reserves. There are two major categories of the data - well data and surface seismic data.

Well data has excellent vertical sampling but sparse lateral sampling. And on the other hand surface seismic has low vertical sampling but excellent lateral sampling of the reservoir.

Therefore, they are complementary and assist each other in letting a geoscientists define the reservoir much more accurately.

The workflow for this integrated study would involve below steps:

  1. Data collection, loading, and validation
  2. Well log editing and conditioning
  3. Well correlation and marker picking and validation
  4. Well-seismic-tie through synthetic seismogram and VSP data
  5. Petrophysical & Rockphysics Analysis
  6. AVO modeling
  7. Seismic Interpretation in time domain
  8. Property modeling for low frequency model Building for acoustic parameters
  9. Prestack seismic inversion
  10. Property modeling for petrophysical properties
  11. Estimation of reserves
  12. Basic economic analysis
