No matter what disaster ( s ) hit us food, water, shelter, clothing will be our first concerns.The decision was made years ago that we would shelter in place . We now have chickens. We have several food plots where we grow veggies.we have a kitchen in the basement that is equipped to can, to prepare meats, to dehydrate foods. We have an isolated storage to store food in the event that in house storage is stolen.We plan to add more animals for meat. We are serviced by a public water supply. We plan to add a well in the near future.We are adding clothing for future needs.
We know that it is near impossible to be entirely self sufficient. With this in mind we have acquired agricultural equipment to farm our seven acres . We are fully aware that we will have to be constantly on guard to keep that which we have from the hungry hoards that will try to take it. We know that without doubt our community will have to come together for self preservation.We are prepared to commit to our community.
As previous articles have indicated we think these grievous times are almost upon us. Am I saying next week, next month, next year? I didn't know. I thank the living God that I don't know. All that I really know is that I feel an urgency to do what I can to be as prepared as possible.
