UNDERSTANDING AND A REAL TREASURE
I never use the word "denial". I say: enjoy life, meditation, and the beauty of the world, the ecstasy of existence — rejoice! Turn the mundane into the sacred. Transform this shore to the far shore, turn this earth into a Paradise.
And then indirectly starts to happen a certain renunciation. But it happens, you are not doing it intentionally. It's not the action, the event. You begin to deny your own stupidity; you begin to renounce debris. You start to deny meaningful relationships. You begin to renounce works, which do not satisfy your essence. You begin to renounce the places where growth is impossible. You begin to deny food that destroys you. But I won't call attraction; I call it understanding, awareness.
If you are in the hands of the stones, thinking it was diamonds, I won't tell you to renounce those stones. I say: "Be vigilant and look better!" If you see that it is not the diamonds, will I have to renounce? They will fall from your hands. In fact, great effort and great will power will need to continue to wear them. But you can't continue to wear them long; once seen, that they are futile, meaningless, you inevitably will be thrown away.
And once your hands are empty, you can start looking for real treasures. But with real blood — not in the future. The real treasure is right here. The real treasure this moment. A real treasure - awareness and total presence.
