4 Tips For Giving A Great Presentation

in #presentation7 years ago

Presentation is a great way to express your views in front of a big group of people. It is a great way to transfer your condensed knowledge about a certain topic very quickly and very efficiently if presented well. It takes a lot of effort to create a presentation and the most difficult part is to know what to include so that most of the audience gets what they wanted to know. Another important parameter of a presentation is time and your presentation must follow a very strict time constraint. It seems pretty easy but believe me it is one of the toughest to do and it needs a lot of practice. There are some things that are very crucial for a successful presentation and I hope it will help.

Confidence and Competence

It doesn’t matter in which field you work, if you are not confident about your skills and presentation then you can present your topic but it will not be graceful, spontaneous and expressive. You may have tons of technical skills but if do not have enough guts and confidence to present it then you are no different that a normal person. So it becomes very important for you to feel confident about your skills. It is a slow process and you must always dare yourself to reach another level.

Pitch and Entertainment

Just think how would you feel if you are listening to a voice with constant pitch? Boring right? You may be very interested in grasping that presentation but after a minute or two you will instantly lose interest in the presentation because of that constant boring pitch. So it becomes very important to give emphasis on words and change your pitch based on the sentence. It will not only make you more interesting but also very expressive. There is a very good book describing all the aspects of a speech “The Art of Public Speaking” by Dale Carnegie. You should definitely buy that book.

Compelling Stories

If you want your audience to completely with you and want to make deep emotional connection then telling compelling stories becomes very important. It can give greatly help you to separate yourself from the other competitors. Just think why would the audience accept a thing what you say? But telling real life stories would greatly help your audience to relate that in their own life and they will be with you until the end. With that you will receive a much personal, authentic and much more powerful response.

Body Language

Body language plays a very important role in presenting a authentic and genuine presentation. It may seem like a small thing to do but takes years and years to grasp. In order to have a cool and relaxed body language, you need to breath in and out properly in between the speech pauses. If you are too excited or nervous for a presentation then it may be hard for you to maintain your body language. All you need to do is relax and breath. Putting your hands behind your back or in pocket is considered as one of the worst presentation practice, So be conscious of your body language.

Thank you so much. I am glad you liked it

great! thank you for sharing

Thank you😊

I found that my confidence in speech often comes from preparation. If I know what I am talking about, then I can be conversational. Unprepared, impromptu speeches are the ones I can't do.

Everything can be improved if you work on it hard enough. :)

Really helpful posts dude.

Thank you. I am glad you liked it.😊
