Queen Elizabeth's 96-year-old husband, Prince Philip, made a final solo appearance today before ending his royal carrer.
In 65 years on the throne, Philip has always been by the Queen's side describing him as "my strength and stay."
His retirement has been first announced last May this year. Spanning seven decades, he made more than 22,000 solo appearances.
Prince Philip maintained a vigorous public schedule inspite of having suffered from heart problems and other ailments in the past. According to the Royal Family, he is involved with almost 800 organizations and conducted over 184 official engagements in the year to March 2016.
During an appearance at Lord's Cricket Ground in central London, he seemed to be in good health and in a fine mood while joking about being the world's most experienced person when it comes to unveiling plaques.
One man said, "Prince Philip's worked very hard over many years,"
At certain events in the future, Buckingham Palace has said that Philip may still choose to accompany Elizabeth.
I'm guessing that this move is a signal that The Queen may abdicate soon.
I guess so, it's becoming obvious.
