I'm a Civil Engineering student at Venezuela, a small and somehow invisible country located in the middle of south america, maybe you don't know it, maybe you do, but the truth is that we have been struggling to survive a comunist government from more than 5 years.
Today one of my friends got busted just because he was passing by, the police and the military here is all bought by the government, and they go out on the night to chase people who are commiting acts of vandalism as a form of protest against the gorvernment. My friend, she was just passing by the street infront of her home, about 2 days ago and the military busted her, they didn't even had an order, they just saw her walking and i think they liked her, they touched her, abused her and today she was transferred to a prison without even making her go through a proper trial as is stated in our law.
This is what happening in this small country, the police and the military do as they please, act as criminals and there is nothing we cant do about it.
This is the news mainstream media misses. Thank you for sharing a human story. Hang in there.
Even the local media misses it, they are all censored by the government.
