I am really surprised by the recent moves of these tech giants. Facebook is private company which is making billions by selling users to advertisers.
It has recently releases a tool 'Off-Facebook activity' and proclaims to give more privacy rights to the users. I don't exactly know what they planning to do in background but it does seem like a good move for privacy conscious people.
You can use this tool in settings of Facebook under Off-Facebook activity. It will let you know which 3rd party apps requested for you data when you were not browsing Facebook.
We know already that FB tracks our history and target us with relevant ads but this might gives up heads up to know where and how our data is being used by what companies.
Data gathering is not something new with freewares but leakage of personal user data is becoming more common now and this tool might somewhat help to counter it.
