No, this is not a measure of superiority of one language over another. Its more of a depiction of the shift of taste and preference by present day geeks and some of their ignorant paymasters
For us of the Scala ilk, for example, we know for sure that Java needs several improvements to its many frailties. And the lure of 'Write it once, scale it wherever you want' makes our lives easier, really. To us, therefore, good ol' Scala reigns supreme its debased positioning on their scale of preference not withstanding.
