If you're reading this you're probably new to this coding world or you are just getting started.
I will assist you in your learning, so here are the 6 tips on how to learn to code faster.
#1 Start with an idea.
- It could be anything, a website, mobile app, inventory system, and etc. This will be your goal, reminder, and inspiration. Don't just copy the codes of the tutorials you're currently following on YouTube, Lynda or any other tutorial site. Create your own system. This will motivate you from learning more. The point is that you're learning and you're building something that will become profitable someday. The benefit of this is that after you're done with your system then you could add this to your portfolio or you could make a lot of profit on that idea.
#2 Never skip or forget all the basics!
- I see a lot of programmers like to go advance and leaving the basic behind. These programmers are often the first to get stuck in a development. Never hate the basics because that's the most important part of your learning. Learn to love them instead. I guarantee you, it will make your life easier 😀
#3 Avoid the TAE! (Tae means shit in my country haha!)
- Trial And Error, most programmers just rely on compilers. Back in the days, my mentor would yell at me if I'm using the compiler to check my code. My classmates and I were forced to write the codes in the paper (see Tips #4). Read and understand your logic and never rely on compilers. That's how you should learn. Anyway, you get the point.
#4 Write down your codes on a notebook.
- No erasures! Make sure you have that ( ; ) check all the time. By writing down your codes, you're forced to write a perfect line of codes and you need to make sure that you're not gonna add a code in the previous lines or else you're gonna start all over again. This will practice your logic.
#5 If you're stuck or curious about something ask for help.
- I would recommend you to create an account on Stackoverflow, people there are so nice and helpful. However, don't abuse it. Just ask questions when you really can't figure it out. Make an effort to solve it on your own. By the way, I forgot to warn you about this. PLEASE Don't just copy the answer. READ and UNDERSTAND.
#6 Read other people's code.
- There are tons of Open Source codes, you can learn from there by READING and UNDERSTANDING their codes. Also please don't just copy them. Make sure to give credit to the source, don't just use them for granted and claim that it was your logic or codes. They shared that for you to learn not make fame out of it.
