Personal Progress

in #programming4 months ago

It has been a while since my last non-concerted 'long' post (basically all I did here lately has been taking care of my brainchild, Hive Power Ventures). And hey, better late than never they say.

It's been one of those times when for whatever unjustified reason, you just can't find the time or the motivation, you know what I mean.

Today is one of those days when it's worth dusting off the pen (well, the keyboard). And write.

I am very happy to have successfully completed the first of my 2 years course. In case you're wondering, I'm doing a higher degree in Web Application Development (dunno if it's well translated here). Nothing spectacular (I'm not that clever!), but so far a very enriching experience that I feel I am making the most of.

Not only that, but after a lot of hard work I have finished this year on a scholarship and have been offered the opportunity to combine the second year of the course with a paid internship in a large company called Inetum (+ 25K employees omg).

In fact, I start on Monday.

So... my corporate venture starts now.

Deep down... it has always been Hive

Actually, thinking about it coldly, I got into this course to get a grounding in computer science and to be able to develop something on top of Hive in the future.

I'm still a complete rookie and I need to learn a lot more, that's for sure but I'm slowly getting closer to my goal. I see this scholarship as a great opportunity to focus and grow in every way.

It's also funny how life takes you down unexpected paths to destinations you wouldn't have imagined.

I'll keep you updated.

PS. Hive Power Ventures and PWR will continue to grow strong.

Have. a . GREAT. Weekend!

Congratulations, my friend!!!!
There are no words to describe the pride that I have in your path!
Fingers crossed for Monday!
Keep it going! Who knows in in a couple of months, you are being one of the dev in Hive!!!

Gracias, mi amigo. El placer es mío el que más, como ya te imaginarás.

Un abrazo muy fuerte desde el otro lado de la península :)

Congratz, I guess

I just hope it doesn't suck your soul dry ( but that's me talking as a creative who spent 21 years in education ( as a student from age 4-25 ) and a bunch of years as a teacher, until I finally burned out and left the system and my country.

It seems like this is your chosen path, so enjoy. Curious to find out how it will unfold!

Abrazo!

I wouldn't dare say you're lucky, you worked hard for that one year. Learning is not easy, especially anything web. Congratulations on your paid internship. It's worth the time and attention. Hive will always be here

Congrats empo!

Great news! It's good to know you're enjoying the course, and a payed internship on top of it is even better! I started learning python this year and placed it on pause for now, but will definitely pick it up in a (hopefully) near future. All the best for the corporate adventure! 😉 Fuerte abrazo! !BEER

Do well in the internship and best of luck for the future.

Good luck, mate! You're such an inspiration.

Welcome the developer world, it’s hard work but it pays off in the end. I’ve been doing it since the nineties.

So far it feels like an incomprehensible world, but eventually I will find my place.

Thank you!

Yeah, it’s a tough place at times especially for the intellectual people like ourselves.

Thanks for your encouragements works bud.
