Life could be a little boring if we allow time just to slip. As a computer technician, I’ve encountered numerous customers who seek for farther services yet at a very convenient price. As I have worked for a small enterprise, I have known how the cash-flow works, from purchasing of peripherals up to summing up the receipt along with the value-added tax. It’s definitely a great impact on customers who pay the excess amount just to obtain the required service. For example, if a buyer looks for a keyboard which is also available in our store, let’s say it cost $10, but given with the tax to sum up as the government required such policy, then the customer would pay for the cost of the item plus the additional amount by which the additional amount depends on the percentage to be taken from the price of every item.

So, as I venture the world of computer and handled home service by which the customers call for a technician to visit or check the unit on their own home, then the technician is hereby addressed to answer the said request. After the service is done, the customer will be given the receipt where he can see the breakdowns of payment, the service fee plus the additional percentage amount. And every technician wishes to gain more happy customers as much as gaining an additional income. Here will be tackled some of the tips to double your income as a technician.

See the store’s client as your prospect for personal service

As many customers really get hard to set an appointment with the store’s employee due to the busy schedules and the limited time of service to cater from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm, they tend to ask for a service that they could hold or reach during Sundays and past 5:00 pm. Instead of recommending few stores that could cater for past hours or technicians, I prefer to recommend myself to address the said service. So anytime, they could just freely call me and set a schedule but I only catered them during Sundays or at the end of my duty.

Make your job your business

As I work as a technician for any Automatic Tubig (Water) Machine, Peso-Net (where you’ll just insert a coin into the coin slot built in the CPU unit: Php1.00 = 5 minutes), CCTV (closed-circuit television) cameras, and Computer Units, I’ve tried one of these units to sustain not just our financial needs but also for the educational needs of my siblings. I put up a single unit of Peso-Net inside our house where my siblings can use it anytime but they also have to pay for the time, and by the end of every month we’ll open the money box inside the unit and we call it a saving. I also put up several Peso-Net dispatched on our relative’s houses and gather the money every week, accumulated by the individual around the area. But upon setting for this unit, you’ll have to assess the location if it’s accessible to anyone or can’t be reached with calamities to secure your small-time business.

Always remember that there’s always money on scraps

I made this as a habit. I opt to buy defected units or even just parts and then fix it. Luckily, everything was handled accordingly. Scraps help to save money, and even if it does consume much of my time and energy, but upon fixing it I’ve gained further knowledge about its wide arrays of designs, the electrical and electronic structures, and even the smallest peripherals could basically lead to a new idea.

As of now, these are all tips that I could share as far as I’ve encountered and executed and I find it really reliable and resourceful. I hope this can help and thank you for patiently reading! Thanks!
