On the 18th of February, 2018, the first ever Abuja steemit meetup was held. A lot of reputable and very important attendance, among which were @ehiboss, @ejemai, @gbenga, @destinysaid, @mimy, @oluwatobiloba, @michealcj, @fisteganos, @nairadaddy, @ememovic and @mediahouseent, who was the MC.

@ehiboss gave the first talk

He talked about steemit and gave an introduction. He talked about the steemit sign up process, the reputation score, the posting and payout process and other important things to know as a newbie on steemit.

@fisteganos gave the next talk, he talked about making the content of your post count, making research and adding references.

@gbenga was next

He gave a talk on building a community and supporting each member and helping each other grow. He also talked about the fact that we shouldn't keep all the rewards for yourself but share it among your community in form of likes, resteems and upvotes.

@ejemai followed

He talked about creating steemit projects and how to manage them. He also talked about the various benefits that steemit has brought into the lives of many people. He explained how it provides an even better alternative to job searching and a solution to unemployment. It could also provide extra income to students while they are earning a degree.

next was @destinysaid

He talked about the steemit extensions, Dtube and Dsound. How they could serve as alternatives to youtube and even give upcoming artistes a place for their voice to be heard. It's still quite new, so there will be a lot of time to grow your fanbase. It also gives a chance to those people that don't really have a talent for writing but can speak quite well.

@nairadaddy talke after him.

He is a medical doctor, so he talked about his heath program and their purpose of widespread health care in Nigeria.

Then we took some pictures

Of course, all work and no play makes jack a dull boy, so after the program, @ehiboss, @mimy, @destinysaid, @mediahouseent and i went to Jabi lake mall for some virtual reality fun.
