One of the places to find many people at a specific time and location is a school. For this reason #steemitashanti has taken it upon itself together with the members to #promote #steemit at the KWAME NKRUMAH UNIVERSITY OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY.(aka KNUST)on 21st March 2018.
Though this has not been the first time for such an event.
But what makes it extra ordinary is the Time factor for which this #promo is being organised. ON many Ghanaian campuses, there is thing called the hall week[a residential building for students] which students move to their affiliate halls , celebrate with them, have fun, feast and join in many things organised by the hall.This is a week where almost all student, both on campus and off-campus get together..
- Steemit -Ashanti, having a perfect timingas this would have a greater hand into reaching out to a lot of people.
The way forward and preparations for the #promo
- Fliers and banner made for advertisement and also to get us some audience. Images and captions gets the attention of people for a particular thing
- A KNUST group has already been created on #Whatsapp, with some of the members having their accounts confirmed. Others also hoping to be confirmed later on in the week.
The little and basic things such as how to make a post, introductory post have been taught.
we have a total membership of 133 and still counting ..
There are steemians like @michaelaffare [A graduate of the university] @philiyce [ a student] and myself @jeeandmee with the help of of the leaders of the team have opted to help newbiees...
- With the help of members who will be making it tomorrow, fliers will be distrubted to the students around ... Creating a sort of awareness for steemit.

Thanks for this update on bringing Steemit to college campuses - in Ghana! Our daughter married a native of Liberia who lived in Ghana after the Charles Taylor uprising. Now he's a U.S. citizen and father of our two grandchildren. Our daughter interned in Ghana one summer, and now African wax prints are a staple of her fashion line.
Wow that's nice and i hope he said good things about the nation .. One thing unique with Ghana is our reception even towards forigners and im sure they tasted some FUFU OR BANKU lol
