Last Sinulog, at January 21, 2018, @steemph.cebu decided to join the grandest festival in Cebu (I guess most people are already aware of that). It has been a week since the event and I have not had a full write-up of the things that had happened on the day. If there is one thing I couldn't bear not to post, it's how I managed give out temporary henna art to everyone who was willing to have their skin inked on.
Henna Tattoo Art
I'm no expert at giving out henna art. In fact, this would have to be my first time to give out this henna tattoo to people. I have already dreamed of doing such but never really had the motivation to do so. I got the idea after seeing the multitude of henna artists on the streets and thought to myself why I shouldn't give the art a chance. I also saw #steemnulog as an opportunity to step out of my comfort zone and to try something new. Big thanks to Steemit for showcasing my mediocre skills in being a tattoo artist lol.
Manghod ni Wang-Od
I'm pretty sure I messed up the concentration of the dye and solvent which is probably the reason why the henna tattoo didn't stick that much. However, since I was the only one offering the service, Steemians had no choice haha (hoorah for monopoly). I had my first henna tattoo just last year. Here is a link of it. I wanted to give out the same to others as well.
Inking my fellow Steemians for Free
Since I had nothing else to do, I wanted to have fun with what I had in mind. I already made my own henna applicator and I just had to use it otherwise it would be put in vain. I decided to just make use of the moment and have fun with it. At first, I wanted to make grandiose art but I couldn't do it without having a sample photo to base it on. This is the reason why I suggested to just ink in their Steemit usernames with the Steem SMT logo. The activity was all about Steemit Promotion and fellowship among the members of the community after all. What better way for us to get to know each other in Steemit than in familiarizing with the usernames we used in the platform.
@jassennessaj
If my memory serves me right, he was the first one to ask for one on his arm. His was different than the rest of the group as he simply wanted the Steem Logo on his right arm. Talk about loyalty dedication to the platform.
Jassen, or @jassennessaj is Cebu's very own growing whale LOL haha. But seriously, I believe he built @steemph.cebu and is the living proof that a vision paired with hardwork can go a long way. He is among the first Cebuano users in Steemit and I plan to have a full scoop of how he came to be who he is in the platform.
@maimaimaichan
Unfortunately, I could not deny the fact that she is my sister HAHA. Just kidding! I couldn't be happier having her around as she introduced the platfrorm to me. Seemit is now a place for my thoughts an avenue for me to pursue my crazy advocacies and silly antics. I owe it because of her.
She told me how I would love the platform and indeed I have. She usually blogs about travel, food, contests, and just about anything she can lay her mind on. She is a rolling stone and is slowly gaining influence in the platform as well.
@ninyea
This bubbly and cheeky Steemian is a great artist. If you check out her blog, you can see the quantity of doddle and art she makes. Currentlt, she is one of the people handling @steemph.cebu and i have to say she is doing a good job at that. Her ideas are out of the box with enough artistry and creativity to make people go ahead with her plans.
I already know her for almost 6 years since they are great friends with my sister, @maimaimaichan. They hang out all the time and have been to loads of places together.
I just love how she is a tireless worker but it doesn't quite show. What I mean to say is how she is very calm and reserved but will surely pack a punch.
@joancabz
I know her from my sister as well. They are just these amazing group of people who help each other out through thick and thin.
According to her bio, she is a "food lover, online teacher, movie addict, music lover". She usually talks about her latest moments in life and adds in a little of her insights of life.
@amethystcheng
She is this very reserved and shy girl considering that that was her first interaction with fellow steemians in the locality. However, I just know that she has a lot to say once people get to know her and as she becomes comfortable with you.
@thefairlady
Maam Jayz never ceases to pull out a smile. Her delightful attitude can raise your mood and spirits two-fold. I really appreciate her mentioning how she always reads my next blogs as she believes I a striving towards great content.
Well I do try lol haha. Glad to know that atleast someone recognizes my efforts (don't we all love recognition for our work?)()
According to her, she is a traveler, a passionate volunteer, and an online teacher. What a great combination of qualities!
@nikkabomb
If I am not mistaken, she is an engineer by profession. They are great friends with miss @smaeunabs, a person whom I very much look up to in this platform, possibly because they met each other as both are in the field of engineering.
One noteworthy detail about her is that is a writer and a poet in her blogs. She is fond of using Filipino language in her works and is really good at it.
@purpletanzanite
She is this soul-filled tanzanian woman who has been in Cebu already for almost a decade. She recently got her masters degree in public health in Southwestern University and has ever since stayed in the locality to pursue her interests and her own business.
She is currently looking for means to earn and to invest her time and effort. This woman is wonderful in the sense that she callse herself a "Lady with a champagne spirit , a sapiosexual, humanitarian". Her sense of humanity is contagious and I am so glad to have met her on that day.
@ybanezkim26
The curie master himself has decided to allow me to lay hands on him haha lol. Kim is a chemical engineer but is known in Cebu as the guy who got Curied 4 times. That's a lot to grasp. Pashare naman jan ng SP oh, I am in need of delegation haha joke.
He calls himself a multipotentiate for his ability to be a jack-of-all-trades. He is fascinated with the idea of diversity, of differences and is flowing where the river leads him. Despite that, he is a great analyst, researcher and a very critical person. No wonder he got himself curied for 4 times in a row.
@indayengineer
I only met this girl on that day but it felt like we had known each other for quite some time already. She is very approachable. I remember us talking about having goals in Steemit and how to maximize time in the platform.
She is very eager to learn and has been through a lot of gigs to earn. I do hope she succeeeds in her goal towards financial freedom. She will make a great crypto-trader and investor here as she is quite interested with stock market and financial matters.
@bellatravelph
She is one of the core leaders of @steemph.cebu and a great motivator in Steemit.
On her blog reads, "Travel✈, Photography📷, life👀, foods🍴 and fitness🏋"
Some of them, I did not have the chance to talk to. I would have loved to hear out their stories and insights. I find that meeting people from all walks of life and hearing what they have to say is among the simple joys in life. Hope to meet more Steemians in Cebu and maybe hear out what they have to say. Truly, Steemit is bridging gaps in the virtual and tangible world!
This is Aaron. Just keep steeming!

😱😱😱 My face! I think I really need an image overhaul. No wonder I was mistaken as a snatcher while I'm on my way to the booth. Haha. I'll tell my story later. It's funny, but it's a wake up call for me. No matter how we insist that it's not good to be judgmental, first impressions always prevail. Magparetoke na gyud ko ani.
