Yesterday was one of the most fulfiling days ever in my journey as a Steemian. I have been in the platform for a month now and those past few days were both frustrating and exciting for me. I have made a rough start and have made an awful lot of mistakes to be where I am now. In all honestly, I believe I have grown so much in that span of time and I never would have done it without the help of my local community @steemph.cebu. A big thanks to the people who have organized this meetup.
How did this become possible?
This event is powered by Steemit.com and sponsored by @sndbox. This is also supportes by @steemph, tha Philippines Steemit community.
This was initiated by a group of brilliant minded members of SteemPhCebu who have put all their efforts into ensuring that the community of Cebuano Steemians continue to grow. This includes the notable steemians such as @purepinay, @jassennessaj, @fernwehninja, @itinerantph, @belltravelph, @mikekenlytungal, @ninyea, and @themanualbot. A big thanks to these guys for organizing the event.
Why was this done?
With the exponential growth of Steemians in Cebu, the event was organized to bridge the gaps between Cebuanos and to answer frequently asked questions.
Dolce Cafe at Nivel Hills, Veterans Drive Lahug
You can see here all the steemians taking up an enormous space in the cafe. Some were bringing laptops to check their steemit account. At this time, the pioneers educated tge newbies on how th platform works. Basically, it was about upvoting, resteeming, curating, cryptocurrency, and a little about trading. They were also answering questions about anythung else.
Here is Miss Gil @purepinay and @itinerantph sharing their testimony in how they started in steemit. The people look very attentive. I bet everyone was inspired by her success story.
After all the queries had been resolved, everyone went outside for photos and to chat with other Steemians. The community is growing stronger by the day.
Jardin de Busay
One of the steemians, @bonjovey offered her place for dinner. It was very kind of her to accommodate everyone. We had great food as she ordered chicken and donuts for everybody
While eating, people talked more of the platform as they shared their ideas and insights on how the system works.
You can see how clear the table went after dinner. The people must have been very hungry.
Most had the chance to sing in her Karaoke TV. Im guessing everyone enjoyed
Cafe Berry
The next stop was more technical @mikekenlytungal and @jaderpogi explained how to use utopian-io as another means other than steemit. Tou can see the people crowing in one table to hear out what the two had to say.
Basically, we learned how ro use the options and rules stated in each contribution for utopian. Everyone was excited to try out the platform. We also had @xsasj, a new friend who travelled a lot. She was interested in the platform sa well.
Here is me and @maimaimaichan with @ninyea. We really learned a lot from these guys. They really explained the process well.
I am hoping for more moments like these. Meetups are great for collaborating and learning. You also have a better understanding of your co-steemians in real life.
I'm new to steemit, and I was inspired by a friend (who actually invited me to join that meeting!). I am hoping that someday I can join the meetups and get to know a lot of new people from the steemit community :)
