I agree with you. I started in Feb of this year and was very exciting about the opportunity to "make money." It didn't take long before I realized that it was not about the money but about the community. But, a few months after this realization, I started to see the darker side of Steemit. The community is very important but I too feel it is being margenolized and left to be run like the lord of the flies. It has been disheartening for the past couple of months as I re evaluate why I am on steemit. I do believe it has huge potential but I am wondering if steemit will become like myspace as other come into the same space and stand on the shoulders of Steemit to make something better and more focused on the community.
